Griffith Observatory is located on Mt Hollywood in Los Angeles. Narrated by Nora Johnson.
Colonel Griffith J. Griffith donated the land and the money to build the observatory to the City of LA in 1896.
Griffith's objective was to make astronomy accessible to the public, so admission has remained free.
During World War II the planetarium was used to train pilots in celestial navigation.
It was again used for this purpose in the 1960s to train the Apollo program astronauts for their first lunar missions.
I'll leave you alone to enjoy the sunset.
