SONGYUE LU, the house rounded by pine trees. It is built in 1933, President Chiang Kai-shek of the Republic of China(ROC), and his wife, First lady Soong May-ling spent their honeymoon here in 1927.
Another building just beside SONGYUE LU. Late in 1948, a lot of important political meetings and decisions of ROC were made here in 1948, just before the end of the civil war.
House with red maple leaves in the garden. Houses here are most of European style, partly because foreign missionaries, businessmen, customs officials set up summer homes here from 1880s.

Most of the foreigners came here in early 1910s are Americans and British. Many of these villas and houses are still standing, with some being turned into hotels and guesthouses operating today.
The doorway, seems a perfect place for some afternoon tea in summer.
