1. Dokdo is an integral part of Korean territory, historically, geographically and under international law.

2. It rains about 150 days a year.

3. The island is often submerged in fog, and the skies are cloudy for more than 160 days a year.

4. Dokdo is a volcanic island formed by lava that erupted from about 2,000 meters underwater.

5. It was formed about 2.5 to 4.6 million years ago, between the Tertiary Period and the early and late Pilocene Epoch.

6. Typical coastal features, weathering topography, volcanic landforms-similar to pillar-shaped joints-and bomb sags and fault lines.

7. Seodo and Dongdo, there is a strait about 110 to 160 meters wide, about 330 meters long, and 5 to 10 meters deep.
